Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

For the past 5 years my Papa suffered from Alzheimers but my Gran was there to help him through each day. His condition became progressively worse and this meant that he had to be put into the hands of carers; it was no longer fair on my Gran as she was suffering in her own way due to the stress and upset from the situation.

I always had a keen interest in art, as did my Papa and he was able to help me through my art studies, he gave me advice as well as resources and for this, I will always be thankful. I will be giving a postcard print of one of his paintings, along with one of my own to those who donate.

My Papa was the most gentle but hard working man, and it was heartbreaking to see him suffer the effects of Alzheimers. I wish that both my Gran and Papa could have been given everything they needed to make the situation a little easier to cope with, and that is why I am fundraising for Alzheimer Scotland.
