Story
One year ago, I cycled the Aberdovey Bike Ride and cursed all the way through it promising everyone I would never do it ever again. But just like a horrific hangover, I swiftly forgot the pain and suffering after a few days and thought it might be a good idea to try it all over again!
As Aberdovey Bike Ride now allow people to choose their own charity, I've picked one that does great work just a few miles away from where I live for children who need extra special care. Anyone that knows me well, will know that I have an uncle with autism. Back in the 60's and 70's when he was growing up, although there was help and day centres that he could go to, autism was not understood as much as it is now and there were not as many learning aids available. I am sure he would have appreciated it if he could have experienced some of the fantastic work this charity do. The people at Sunfield provide day and residential care for children with autism and other complex learning needs. They do this by using everything at their disposal, whether it be psychologists or sensory rooms.
With your sponsorship money and my weary little legs, I am hoping I can raise some cash for them to put towards the valuable resources required for the children they care for.
Sunfield's vision is a world where people with complex needs and autism succeed and flourish.Your support can help purchase much needed items such as; sensory resources, play and fitness equipment and new vehicles, as well as help fund projects such as, house or school refurbishment works or new builds - all helping to make Sunfield a home-from-home.
