Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Here's my story:

After taking early retirement in January 2013 due to ill health, my Dad (Stephen) was officially diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in September 2013; he was given an optimistic 3-5 years, but unfortunately lost his fight after just 3 months in December 13.

This page has been set up in his memory for those that would like to contribute something towards the on-going research by the MNDA, as well as the care, support and understanding given to the patients, carers (in Dad's case this was my Mum 24/7) and family, whenever they needed anything.

MND is such a horrible disease which affects the brain, nervous system and spinal cord; messages from the nervous system gradually stop reaching the muscles leading them to weaken, stiffen, waste away and gradually your body shuts down.

Thank you again for reading this page, and for giving anything you can, it is very much appreciated!
