Story

Cecilia was a vivacious singer and music teacher who died suddenly of cancer (biphasic synovial sarcoma) last April, and she would have been 39 years old in March.

This concert is the ‘brain child’ of Thorunn Sigthorsdottir, a fellow opera student and close friend of Cecilia’s from Iceland. We both agreed that something positive should be done in her memory and a charity concert seemed a natural choice. Through the wonders of social networking it has been possible to contact many of her music college friends, past pupils, and I wish to thank all of the performers who will be volunteering their time and effort so readily, some of whom will have to travel many miles to attend the concert.

Cecilia not only had a God given voice, she also was a natural and gifted teacher, and this was her true vocation in life; she inspired others (especially youngsters), always encouraging them to perform and most importantly to love performing as she always did. We hope that many of you will be able to enjoy these performances at the concert, celebrating and cherishing her life and legacy with joy and a song in our hearts….. but for those unfortunate souls who can't attend, please show your support by donating here!!!

Thanks so much!

Diolch o galon!!
