London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
When we were 29, we promised each other that we would run a marathon when we were 30. A few years later, we have finally managed to secure places at the London Marathon where we can run / hobble / push each other together.
We are running for Breast Cancer Care - the charity that we did our first run with back in 2014. We chose Breast Cancer Care, having watched our brilliant and strong step-Mum, Pat, fight and beat breast cancer. We have also watched other friends fight this battle and we will be thinking of those that are still fighting and for those loved ones who sadly aren't with us anymore.
Breast Cancer Care provides support and information for women and their families, offering emotional and practical support and we are delighted to be raising essential funds for them.
Back in 2014, training for a half marathon seemed like an impossible hurdle. Now, having only secured places in December, we have 16 weeks to get ready for our first marathon. We'll be doing this, whilst Beth looks after baby Piper, and Rebecca moves to the US for the first few months of 2018. This means we'll be training alone, for the first time!
Your donations over the next few months will keep us motivated as we train on separate continents, whilst we fight sleep-deprivation, working long hours and missing each other! Thank you for your support, we can't thank you enough.
Love,
Rebecca and Beth
