As many of you know, this time a year ago I was just starting the process of getting back to good health. I was just shy of morbidly obese - I felt terrible and dreaded having to confront the task that lay ahead.  

Starting was the hardest part of the process but I told myself I could spend the year doing nothing about it or solving the problem. Seven months later, I was seventy pounds lighter. While fitting back in my old clothes was great, I was happiest about having more energy and feeling healthier. 

I'm thrilled to know that a year later I'm in good enough shape to jog/ease on down the road for 10 kilometers. 

I'm using the opportunity to raise some money for the Abortion Support Network - a fantastic charity that provides practical assistance to Irish women when they need to seek abortion care in the UK. I can only imagine the dread and desperation of needing an abortion but not being able to access one due to money. I want to help provide a sense of relief for someone in a scary situation.
