Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·
I am one of the lucky ones to have secured a place in this years London Marathon. I'm so excited being my first ever Marathon.
Of course the London Marathon is never solely about a personal challenge and more about being the largest fundraiser on the planet! Therefore, I would like to ask for your support to raise money for War Child, who I will gladly be tackling the 26 miles for. :)
5 years ago I became a proud Auntie, and I now have 2 little Earth Angels in my life- Faye and Henry.
"I'm so pretty and everybody loves me" - these were the words of Faye on her 4th birthday. As hilarious and cute as this sounds, this is obviously not because she is already a Kardashian loving, selfie obsessed girl in a material world. She said this the purest sense and truly believing everything in the world was nothing but lovely and happy. At 5 she persists in saying how lucky she is to have a 'lovely' mother, a 'lovely' father, a 'lovely' brother, 'lovely' Aunties and.... well you get the message. These kids have brought so much unconditional love and light to my family. It makes me so happy that they only seem to know love. The words of Nelson Mandela come to mind "No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religious. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart then the opposite."
As much as this warms my heart it also breaks my heart to know children out there are born into this world knowing hate almost before they know love. Every child is pure and innocent. A blank canvas which should be painted with beautiful bright colours. The more children we can paint the better the world will be...
