Raising Money for The YMCA

UWCB Brighton 25th November 2023 · 25 November 2023 ·
In Brighton it’s hard to walk down the street without seeing someone who’s homeless. In 2017 Brighton had the 2nd largest homeless population in England. 80% of homeless people report a mental health issue, this combined with physical ill-health creates a desolate situation.
At lest 25% of these people have experienced living in care early in life. Being a support worker, working with children in Care, I know first hand how difficult life can become when u have lived through trauma since you were a child. Not everyone gets the help they need to succeed in life.
At YMCA Brighton, they know that providing a roof over someone's head is not enough. They provide accommodation and services (support, counselling and employment services) to prevent the revolving door of homelessness; empowering people to achieve their goals.
