Started in September 2012 Reggae Choir runs workshops throughout the year singing different styles of Reggae music that include Pop Reggae, Two Tone, Rock Steady, Ska, Classic Reggae, Lovers Rock. We even tackle 'Reggified' songs. That is well known pop songs given a reggae twist.

Why Mental Health?
Mental Health issues affects millions and is no discriminator of age. Many suffer in silence. It is wonderful to see a shifting in the social climate’s perception to having a more open discussion on this subject.
Reggae Choir is no different, with some of our members directly or indirectly affected. We wanted to raise awareness and funding in a joyful way befitting who we are as a community choir.
Why Young Minds?
Many of our members are associated with the educational sector, the NHS or have worked within mental health for many years and have witnessed first hand how mental health issues affect young people.
Young Minds based in Southwark is a committed charity working tirelessly championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people.
All the money raised from Reggae Beat Walk will go to Young Minds.
How Does this work?
Reggae Choir is partnering with registered charityYoung Minds Charity to do a Reggae Themed Walkathon – helping to raise money for children and young people affected by mental health issues.
The walk is open to all. We will be walking through East London, starting in Stratford at Stratford Circus through to Hackney’s Victoria Park.
The difference with this walk is that we’ll be walking, singing, bopping, skanking to an array of different Reggae songs from a selection you’ll have access to once registered. Please note under 16’s can walk for free provided they are accompanied by a paying adult.
All participants will only formally be registered once they pay the joining fee of £5 via donation to this 'Just Giving' page.
