Following his three-year long battle with prostate cancer that he fought so bravely, Mike peacefully passed away on Friday 13^th January with his family by his side.

As opposed to flowers at his funeral, Mike's wishes are that donations to his beloved 'Lions Club of Leigh on Sea' are made in his memory. 

Mike was a dedicated member of the Lions Club International for over 30 years and during this time he was Club President on three occasions. Mike helped organise a number of different fundraising events such as the Leigh on Sea Regatta and annual duck race. He also volunteered at the Leigh Lions charity shop most weekends and even took part in two aid convoys, where he was in charge of driving a truck load of supplies to those in need in both Croatia and Romania. Wherever he could, Mike was always willing to help.

Mike was a fantastic gentleman who never failed to put a smile on anyone's face even during everything that he was going through. His infectious laughter, fantastic humour and enormous dedication to the 'Lions Club of Leigh on Sea' will be missed by so many of us. 

Mike’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 15^th March at 2pm at Southend Crematorium, Sutton Road, Southend on Sea, Essex, SS2 5PX.
