The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity who creates, protects and cares for woodland across the UK. We are working hard to create a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. But we can't do this alone. We can't achieve our vision without you.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m walking the 1215 miles route from Land's End to John O' Groats in May 2023. I will carry my tent and supplies with me on this continuous journey.

This challenge is to raise money and awareness for the Woodland Trust. It will help support their excellent work in planting over 250,000 native broad leaf trees at the Young People’s Forest in Derbyshire. The Mead will create a beautiful and free, public open green space, connecting to Shipley Country Park and extending out to Smalley.

This is a self-funded trip so 100% of the money goes to the Woodland Trust. Donations are not one trick wonders but investments that keep on giving - for many generations to come! Woodlands and trees are essential for people and for wildlife.

Each tree will help combat climate change, improve air quality, mitigate floods, improve mental well being, accelerate healing of physical injuries (research shows that recovery rates improve even if a patient simply views trees) and importantly, provides vital, rich habitat and food for thousands of different species! Scientists estimate that 150-200 species of plant, insect, bird and mammal become extinct every 24 hours. Greater than anything the world has experienced since the vanishing of the dinosaurs nearly 65 million years ago.

We don’t need to become a fossil record. Together, we can improve the world we live in. Let’s plant a tree. Benefiting everyone who calls this special planet home.

A £10 donation can help plant four trees.

Thank you for your support.
