Story
Hello, my name is Richard Beaumont
Last year I began a leadership course with the Cadets called the Junior Leadership Course 2017/18, and part of the syllabus is to raise a minimum of £500 for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation. All the money raised will go towards this much deserving cause.
The charity was set up on 2008, after the tragic death of an ex Air cadet (John Thornton) who joined the Royal Marines as an officer, but lost his life in Afghanistan.
John took part in the Junior Leadership course back in 2003, and came out as the Highest achieving student, which was further recognised by the RAF Red Arrows. As being the hardest course the ATC has to offer, his achievement was highly looked upon.
Set up in his memory, the charity has set out with the goal of providing opportunity for young people, to help them to develop as individuals, and fulfil their ambitions in life.
