Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Brentwood half marathon on the 20th March 2011 on behalf of Saint Francis Hospice. This is a great charity and I am really proud to run on their behalf. SHF is a centre of excellence in the care of those with life limiting illnesses. They have a team of specialist consultants, doctors, nurses and health care assistants which provide practical and emotional support for adults of all ages and give specialist bereavement support to family members from as young as 20 months.

Those who know me, know that I am not the type to go jogging let alone running. So the fact I am preparing to run a half marathon, 13 and a bit miles is a bit of a shock to both friends and myself! I have struggled with weight and self confidence issues my whole life, but through preparing for this, I have managed to both lose weight and build my confidence, something I never thought possible. It goes to show that with a little hard work, anything is achieveable! But I still have 13 and a bit miles to go to cement that in place. So any contribution to Saint Francis Hospice is appreciated, no matter how small that contribution is!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks for taking time out of your day and even thinking about supporting me and Saint Francis Hospice!

Many kind regards,

Richard a.k.a Butch
