Thank you for visiting my page. Metaphysique are proud to be supporting Sarcoma UK, the only cancer charity in the UK focused on all types of sarcoma. Sarcoma is a cancer of the bone and soft tissue. It is one of the hardest to diagnose, and difficult to treat. We can help change this. By donating to my page, you will fund vital research projects looking for better treatments. Your donation will also raise awareness of the symptoms of sarcoma to help patients get an early diagnosis, and ensure everyone has access to specialist advice.

We have chosen to support this charity in particular because our very dear friend Danny Young (33)  has been diagnosed with a sacral sarcoma (located in his lower spine).  This news comes after his already very long ordeal.  

In 2005, Danny was first diagnosed with a spinal sarcoma.  He underwent surgery and radiotherapy.    Then in early 2017, Danny was diagnosed with a thoracic sarcoma (upper spine).  He underwent 6 months of aggressive chemo and radio-therapy.  He then underwent extensive reconstructive spinal surgery to have the sarcoma removed.  He was then flown to the USA where he spent 3 months having a revolutionary Proton Beam Therapy.  The treatment was a success. 

Unfortunately, only a brief time after his return from USA he developed the sacral sarcoma mass which they believe to be in-operable.    We refuse to accept this and so does Danny.  He is currently having radiotherapy to slow the growth rate down and is currently awaiting a treatment plan.   

We have decided to host one of my outdoor bootcamps on Friday, 27th April on Brandon Hill, Bristol.   100% of my takings will be donated to this great cause.   Public funding is crucial to the survival of this charity to ensure the research and clinical trials continue so we can save lives and find a cure. 

I will be taking up a personal challenge to row 10k every day for the  remainder of April and all of May 2018.  Totalling a distance of 490km.  Thats the same distance as from Bristol to Belfast and some extra. 

This will be taking place at Fitness 4 Less on Union Street, Bristol and photographic evidence of the challenge will be posted on my facebook and instagram pages.      

I would be extremely grateful if you could make a donation.  However big or small, you will be making a difference to someones life.  Danny would not be here now if it hadn't been for the treatment he's already received through Sarcoma UK.  Lets ensure he and others stay around a lot longer and continue to receive treatment that saves their lives.
