I didn't know brain tumours are the biggest killer of children, with one child dying every 3 days. I've worked in the Healthcare sector for 20 years and with some time on my hands, between jobs - why not get involved in a challenge and support an excellent charity.
A good friend of mine introduced me to the Lewis Moody Foundation - the Foundation helps families affected by serious illness, offering special days out and one-off experiences for children and their families. Equally as important, they help research through The Brain Tumour Charity, aimed at reducing diagnosis times and saving young lives.
I started my challenge as a New Years resolution, just the normal lose weight and get fitter was the goal..! So far I've managed 2 and a half stone and I'm much fitter thanks to bootcamps, pilates and boxing sessions, however, this challenge provides greater focus and a much better reason to continue with my resolution..!
I'd really appreciate your help with sponsorship the challenge of raising £3000 for this extremely worthwhile cause.
Many thanks
PS this is a self-funded trip where I pay £3295 GBP to participate, meaning every penny donated goes to the charity.
