Story
As many of you know I have been doing the Cross for around 10 years now. I once said I would never do it again as it was a nightmare run in the mud and my bike got two punctures! However, time and beer helps most things and I returned to try again and my great friend Willie Gray has inspired me to do it again this year. I haven’t done much running this year so it may be a 20 mile walk rather than run, but I will do what I can between now and then and might still run it if the ground is dry.
Anyway, the event isn’t really about times or PBs, its all about raising money for the fantastic Highland charities who provide great service to the needy and vulnerable. The money usually goes to buying minibuses or specially adapted vans for charities, and this year we are supporting Blythswood Care, Highland Hospice, MS Therapy Centre and Kyle & Lochalsh Mental Health Association. We will also be buying a bothy for Abriachan Forest Trust who support vulnerable adults and kids spending more time in the great outdoors.
