GREAT NOTTS BIKE RIDE · 21 June 2015
WE DID IT ... A 100 mile bike ride for my upcoming 60th.
My ride partner Pete suggested we do it for Nottinghamshire Hospice. I set a modest initial £350 target then raised it to £500 and thanks to many generous sponsors have smashed that as well. Between us Pete and I will have raised around £1500 for Nottinghamshire Hospice.
Thank you to all those who have encouraged me do the hundreds of miles training and on the day especially to Pete and Guy who stuck around waiting for me to catch up. Despite some unexpected hills and totally expected strong headwinds we eventually managed it after 8 hours in the saddle. It was a hard physical effort for a couple of old novices but for a great cause and I'm sure in a couple days when the pain has subsided and I can walk again I'll think it was all worth it.
