Richard's Stoptober And Exercising

Stoptober And Exercising · 1 October 2020
We all know the wonderful work Help for Heroes provides for our brave men and women veteran servicemen. Last week, I read that 142 jobs at the charity are at risk, due to COVID-19. Donations have significantly fallen at a time when the demand for the charity's services has dramatically increased.
I was discussing the news with a group of friends and with Stoptober approaching, someone suggested that I help the charity by not drinking. This was followed by huge communal laughing as I'm known to enjoy a drink. A funnier image, apparently, is one of me in gym kit taking exercise. That for me would be a living hell - no alcohol and compulsory exercise for a month.
However, I thought if I could raise £1,000, it could pay for some counselling that could benefit a veteran. After all, we've all been at a low ebb at some time and appreciated advice and guidance from a friendly face.
I'm also blessed to work in an industry where people are incredibly sociable, good-hearted and generous and I hope that you will cheer me on to reach this target to help others who have served their country selflessly.
Please also enjoy a good laugh at my expense. Imagine this fat bastard as he struggles through October - which, trust me, is going to be a terrible month.
God bless you all and thank you for your support, the charity really does need this help.
Please also check out their online shop for fantastic gift ideas. I've got a rugby shirt and 2021 desk diary on my Christmas list (as they don't sell wine!).
