Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running in the British 10K London Race on 8th July and am raising funds for the Niemann-Pick Disease Group which helps and supports families of children with this very rare genetic disorder. It is a degenerative condition, very similar to dementia.
I was very moved by the story of Leah Garfitt a young girl who up to the age of 5 lived a normal and happy life, but went on to develop this condition. She had all the dreams you would expect of a child that age, but this cruel illness sadly cut short her life at the age of 9. Having seen first hand the sad effects of dementia and having a daughter of a similar age to Leah, I wanted to do something positive to support this small charity.
If you are in London on the day, it would be great to have you cheering me on!
