"I am British Serviceman currently serving in Afghanistan. Where I am based at this time it is not uncommon to see a vast number of stray dogs roaming around the ground. I have witnessed a increase in the number of stray dogs within my area which sadly seems to be over looked by the local population".

I have come in contact with numerous stray dogs, however one situation made me sit up and act on my gut feelings. We had a female dog wonder around our area for several weeks, on the first initial look she looked in a bad way then with a further inspection it was clear that she had just given birth. Within a week of her being with us I was fortunate to have found a Litter of Seven Puppies in which she had given birth to. Myself and my colleagues were quick to bring them back with us. Fortunately they seemed to be in good health. Out of the Litter one of the dogs caught my eye straight away with his cheeky behaviour. It became clear to me there and then that I was fully committed to rescuing him. I gave him the name of Wolverine due to his light brown coat and markings on his face just like a Wolf.

After a few hours of watering them and feeding them I got in touch with Nowzad to let them know of our situation. Nowzad got to us within 24 hours where they took them back their animal shelter, offering them their first step to a better future with daily food and all of their medical requirements.

Wolverine would not have much of a chance of good life or even survival if they were left where I found him but now I have the chance to give Wolverine the life every dog deserves back in the UK. Wolverine will have to stay at the Nowzad animal Shelter in Afghanistan till he is 6-7 months old, so he is old enough to fly and does not need to go into quarantine.

Please help me bring Wolverine home where I can give him a loving home and to ensure without any reasonable doubt he will get the happiest future any dog deserves back in the UK. I need to raise £3500 and if I can find as many people as possible to just donate a few £s then I can reach Wolverines target in no time and he can come home.

My time in Afghanistan has been a grim one and finding Wolverine at that point in my tour was such a morale boost. I cannot bear the thought of leaving him behind am sure with everyone's generosity he will be coming home to me soon.
