Cherish, a registered charity, is the parents sup- port group linked to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Founded in 1987, with the encouragement of the staff of SCBU, by a group of parents who all had babies in need of special care, and is a voluntary organization.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My son Rhys Lloyd Williams-Cooke was born on September 8th 2014 at Wrexham Maelor hospital. It was soon clear that he was very poorly and he was rushed to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).

He spent an unexpected 11 days at the unit. It was a very worrying time for us all but with the help of the staff and Cherish we were able to stay at the hospital and be close to him. We can't thank them enough for the help and support they gave us.

Some colleagues of mine (including:- Jamie Jones, Mike Dineen, Stuart Hughes, Carol Bell, Lynne Faulks, Craig Holt, Rob Jenkins, Emily Burgoyne, Harriet Evans, Babs Boardwell, Marten Koschik and Danny Speed) have decided to tackle Born Survivor Manchester on September 26th- a gruelling 10k military obstacle course !

Therefore we have decided to raise as much money as possible for Cherish in the hope that it can help to ease the stress for other families in the future. Anything you can afford is much appreciated.
