London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer. Before the diagnosis, he was enjoying his retirement, just being his usual happy, jovial self. He loved spending time with his family & friends and always enjoyed a beer or two. Three months later he was gone.

Pancreatic cancer is the toughest cancer to diagnose, treat and survive. 1 in 4 people won’t survive a month. 3 in 4 won’t survive for a year.

For my first London Marathon I was lucky enough to get a ballot place for the event on 26th April 2020, so I decided this was a great opportunity to do something to help. I want to make sure that everyone affected by this brutal disease gets all the help & support they need. Pancreatic Cancer UK are doing just that by investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and contributing to the global fight to put an end this disease. Every Pound, Dollar, Euro etc that we raise will make a difference in that fight.

If you would be kind enough to share this with your friends & family I would be most grateful.

Thank you for your support!

Best wishes,

Richard
