We provide vital treatment and training to improve the welfare of working animals

Story

Hi!

Thank you for supporting me and in turn helping me to support the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA).

SPANA helps to protect working animals, like donkeys, horses, camels and elephants, which are so vital for the livelihoods of many very poor people, who don’t have the money or resources to properly care for their animals.

If you know me, you will know how much I love donkeys and elephants. You will also know that I am passionate about helping those who help animals which are suffering. SPANA combines these two passions for me and I can’t wait to help them by taking on this massive personal challenge by running the half marathon... I’ve never run more than 5k in my life, so this will be tough, but knowing how much difference it will make to animals around the world will get me to the finish line!

Your support really will make a difference to the hard-working animals around the world:

£5 can buy a pair of hoof cutters, giving relief to the painful feet of thousands of horses and donkeys (this is what I tell myself when I’m struggling with my runs!)

£15 will cover the cost of feed and bedding for a 5 day stay for an injured donkey recovering at one of SPANA’s animal hospitals

£25 will pay for a visit to an animal hospital by local school children to teach them respect and to value animals and their environments.

Thank you for your help and support, it means a lot to me, but even more to the animals you are helping!

Lots of love,

Riley x
