Climbing the Height of Everest · 22 July 2016

Mary’s Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding programmes in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds more than 2.6 million children every school day and it costs just £19.15/€22.00 to feed a child for a year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In Late august 2016 I will be attempting to climb the height of Mt. Everest (29,029 ft) in Argyll in the tightest safe window possible. This will involve climbing 10-11 Munro's, they are each between 3280- 3937 ft. The target of 2-3 Munro mountains per day will be no easy feat and will involve much physical exertion.

Mary's Meals is an Argyll-based charity that believes the only feasible way to tackle poverty in Africa is through education. Therefore the charity offers children in Africa a healthy nutritious meal for every day that they attend school. They now feed, and hence educate more than 1.2 million children daily. This persuades children to go to school as opposed to using the day foraging for food or doing manual labour to pay for meals.

All help to reach my target will be very gratefully received.

With many thanks,

Robert
