Hi – Thanks for taking
the time to visit my JustGiving page and in doing so learning more about my
latest charity madness.
I’m running arguably the
ULTIMATE Ultra Marathon Race in the UK. On 29th April I embark on running 860
miles in 15 days, circa 55+ miles a day from John O’ Groats (JOG) to Lands’ End
(LE).

This is a massive undertaking
and by far the longest and furthest multiday event I’ve ever entered. Running
this mileage will challenge and push me beyond my limits, and this is where I
need your support to help me muster the physical and mental strength to run day
after day, when everything is hurting and know that every step raises more
charity money.
As some of you will know,
to date I’ve raised over £50k for Antony Nolan Trust, Multiple Sclerosis and
Action Research, but this year I wanted to raise money for Diabetes UK (DUK). This charity is close to my heart because in
2002 at the tender age of 9 my daughter Lucy was diagnosed with Type 1
diabetes. If you aren’t directly affected by the condition, you probably know
someone who is?
DUK is the largest
organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research,
campaigning and helping people live with the condition. DUK funds vital
research for a future without diabetes, while helping children and adults to
manage their diabetes today. In giving to Diabetes UK you’ll help the 2.5
million people with diabetes in the UK.
In giving you can be
confident that every penny you donate will go to DUK to help them continue
research into the causes of diabetes, and work towards curing the condition. Please
dig deep and generously donate now, and in doing so, feel proud that you can vicariously
be part of the experience.
Many thanks
