Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide exists to meet the needs and break the isolation of those impacted by a suicide loss. We provide a safe and confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, so that no one bereaved by suicide has to face their loss alone.

Story

Hi my name is Rob,

My young son Adam who was 15 and my beautiful wife Nikki both sadly took their own lives.

Alarmingly, each year more than 6000 people tragically take their own life.  Each one leaves a lasting and devastating impact on the their families, friends and colleagues.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS) provide valuable support to those left behind in the wake of suicide as well as raise awareness and help to improve access to support services.

This year I am running the Reading Half Marathon to raise much needed funding to SOBS and promote awareness of the challenges faced by those affected by Suicide.

I'm not a professional athlete and getting fit has been a challenge in itself, but Jason at DW Fitness Clubs in Southport has been excellent in helping me to get 'race fit' and I'm shooting to complete the circuit in under 3 hours - for a former 'pudding' like me that should be good going.

I know Nikki and Adam will be watching me 'jog-on' and I'm counting on your support to help keep be through to the end of the course and smash the fundraising target.
