To celebrate reaching my 50th birthday milestone in June I would like to challenge myself in doing something I enjoy, and hopefully raise money for an amazing charity that is close to my heart.
I have been doing Bikram Yoga for 10-years now (1-2 times per week) which helps me both mentally and physically. I discovered the practice whist trying to find a solution to overcome some mental health issues at the time and have been coming to the same studio at Yoga Matters ever since.
Raising awareness of mental health is of paramount importance especially as quite often we are too proud to reach out and ask for help. Having experienced this first hand I know only too well the impact this can have on your health and those around you.
On the 4th April I will putting mind and body through a marathon of a workout by doing 60 x 90-min Bikram classes in 50-days (so every Tuesday & Thursday will be double sessions).
I hope at the end of this challenge that I can raise some much needed funds for Mind Jersey and promote good mental health and awareness.
