Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Martin webster was a sheffield man through and through. Full of talent, humour, humility and determination. He inspired loyalty in all who worked for him.

Anyone who makes a living in the crazy world of broadcasting usually does so because at some point one person in the industry decided they were worth a punt.

Webby was one of Bbc sports executive producers and went out on a limb for me on many occasions. Opening the door to events like the London marathon, the world cross country champs and the olympics in Beijing.

I was simply one of dozens of people he willingly helped throughout his amazing career.

All his character rose to the fore when he faced his toughest running order of all, Motor Neurone Disease.

He spent 5 difficult years surrounded by people who both loved and respected him and his humour and determination never left him.

He had the heart of a lion and his spirit still lives on through the programmes he made his own and in the memory of all those luckily enough to have worked for him.

He is sorely missed.
