Story
Hello! I’m running a half marathon (21km) on May 30th to raise money for Survival International, an organization that works closely with tribal people.
Tribal and indigenous groups around the world are disproportionately impacted by climate change, Covid19, extractive industries, international legislation and national incentives. This year has been particularly difficult for so many of us but harder still for indigenous people.
Any amount that you can give will be intensely appreciated! I know how difficult this year has been and that makes your donation even more generous.
Survival International is an amazing organisation that champions the voices of indigenous people, puts their needs first, works alongside tribes to safeguard ancestral land rights in the face of amazing odds and never seeks to ‘develop’ or change these amazing societies, families, and cultures which can teach us so much.
Please help me reach (and overreach) my goal by giving whatever you can to help Survival help not only amazing individuals but whole ways of life and languages threatened with extinction.
**UPDATE: we reached our £500 goal in just three days! Now, we're hoping to raise another £500 in the next two weeks to bring us to £1000!**
Thank you so much everyone who helped us reach the first goal!
Find out more about the run at: svlint.org/RunforSurvival or who your donation will directly support at https://www.survivalinternational.org/tribes or get in touch with me at: 07717474456
I’m aiming to run the race in under 1hr 37 minutes, starting from my boat in Uxbridge, taking in the hills of Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns. Stay tuned for a map and more updates.
A final, important ask:
Please, please share this fundraiser. It really is for a great cause!
Thank you so much!
Love,
Rob
