Story
For anyone who may not know me, my name is Rob Coe and my Mum, Eirwen, is currently battling lymphoma cancer, which she has had for just over 3 years.
She is the sort of person who never complains about anything and just cracks on with everything in her day to day life. She never lets anything get her down, nor complained about anything throughout her treatment, or asked for anything from anyone. In truth, if you didn't know, you'd have no idea she was ill.
She has gone through chemotherapy twice, a stem cell transplant which included a months isolation in hospital, and has lost all of her hair. For any person, this would be enough to knock them down, but you'll find my Mum out on the ranges in Hampshire walking the dogs every day, or spending time with her grandson James.
Since her illness started, my family, friends and I have done the small things to try and make her happy. We've renovated her kitchen (I'm a professional joiner), repainted her dining room, and replaced all the doors in the downstairs of her house. But this doesn't make the cancer go away. I wanted to do something more to help for the greater good of all cancer sufferers and survivors, and to make sure many more survive.
To that end, I will be running the Brighton Marathon on the 15th April and then, along with 4 close friends, Andrew, Sarah, James and Jan, will be scaling the 3 Peaks of Great Britain on 9-10 June, hoping to complete this challenge in just 24 hours.
Your donations would be incredibly appreciated to help me and my friends to the end of this mammoth feat. Whether they be big or small, everything will help towards our end goal of stamping out cancer for good.
My mum is an inspiration, and I love her. She's my muse for this challenge, and I know everyone will have someone in their lives who has been touched by cancer, so please give as generously as you can. We are so grateful. Thank you.
Love
Rob Coe
