Headcase raises funds for research to find a cure for the most common adult primary brain tumour - a Glioblastoma Multiforme or GBM. GBMs are incurable and kill 5000 adults each year in the UK . Headcase is staffed entirely by volunteers and will be funding PhD research in labs across the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 3rd May 2009 I was mid way through a long bike ride through the Scottish Highlands and Outer Hebrides when I received a phone call from my sister-in-law in New Zealand, telling me that my brother Peter had suffered a seizure out of the blue.

On 31st October 2010, at the age of 46, recently married and with a beautiful two year old daughter, Pete died from brain cancer after battling the devastating effects of a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) tumour for 18 months.

To mark 10 years since my brother’s death I will return to the Highlands to finish that bike ride in his memory. 503 miles of big hills, big beaches and probably big headwinds, on and off road in 9 days.

I will be raising money for Headcase Cancer Trust, dedicated to researching a cure for GBM - more about them below.

Your support will be massively appreciated, and you will be able to follow my progress on Facebook and Twitter.
