Man vs Lakes · 14 July 2017

We help improve the patient experience of kidney patients at George's Hospital in Tooting, South London. We raise money for the purchase of expensive medical equipment, and support services and research projects. Dialysis and transplant patients come for treatment from SW London, Surrey and Sussex.

Story

Right, me and a couple of very nice lads are running a marathon in the Lake District on 14th July 2017. It is my first marathon so therefore it's a little questionable why I would choose to run it up and down large hills, with a slightly dodgy knee, and worst of all....in the North. However, I would like to take the opportunity to raise some money for a very worthy cause. I work at St Georges hospital and regularly come into contact with patients who suffer from kidney problems- it's pretty grim. The St Georges Kidney Association supports patients who are often elderly and vulnerable. Working in St Georges hospital offers a daily reminder of how important the NHS is and how critical its services are for those people in need. Please, if you are able, donate some money below.
