JDRF works to change the reality of this disease for millions of people—and to prevent anyone else from ever knowing it—by funding research, advocating for government support of research and new therapies, ensuring new therapies come to market and connecting and engaging the T1D community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to cycle 100 miles to raise money for the charity JDRF. The Prudential Ride London 100 is the cycling equivalent to the London Marathon!!!!

JDRF fund research with the aim to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications, and focus on improving lives.

Type 1 diabetes is close to my heart after Jemima, my eldest daughter was diagnosed last year at just 5 years old. This is a life changing condition for Jemima and our entire family and the idea that one day, there might be a cure and that we might prevent this happening to others is a dream. In the meantime, finding new ways to manage the condition and improve Jemima’s life is always close to my thoughts.

JDRF, don’t receive any government funding so all the great research is funded by donations.

I would be grateful for all of your donations and sponsorship.

For a bit of context... I have never ridden 100 miles in a day and normally 18 miles is my maximum ride, which if any of you follow me on Strava, you will see I don’t do very often!!! So far this year I have cycled 52 miles in total, so 100 miles in one day will be a real challenge. I can’t promise a good finish time, but I do promise a finish!

Thanks

Rog
