Hospitals can be an intimidating place at the best of times. So imagine how daunting and alien it must feel for a loved one suffering from dementia who has been admitted with an illness? From the strange noises to the many unfamiliar faces, the ward environment is not always the best place for dementia sufferers to flourish. A dementia cafe will provide a safe environment that will allow them to socialise, interact, participate in activities and feel more at home. It will be a haven for patients and their families to share throughout their hospital journey. Please help me raise funds for a purpose built Dementia Cafe at St George's Hospital so we may serve the local community with such a facility.
