The Burrito Project

Ron and Lynn Penner-Ash is raising money for Giving Plate

The Burrito Project · 27 July 2020

Locally founded in 2010, The Giving Plate is the largest food pantry in Central Oregon. We have three hunger-fighting initiatives, with a special focus on childhood hunger. We are passionate about creating a space that is warm, welcoming, & rich with hope. Together we can fight hunger & feed hope.

Story

Join us in supporting our new “Burrito Project” … a collaboration with Bend’s The Giving Plate.

At some point this year 54 million Americans, including one in four children may not know where their next meal is coming from. Food insecurity is rising in every part of the United States, and will continue to throughout 2021 according to new projections from Feeding America. With help from community volunteers and Cascade Culinary Institute students we make breakfast burritos every week for The Giving Plate’s food bank. Our intent is to create sustainable fundraising beyond our initial give to continue making tasty and nutritious breakfast burritos indefinitely for families in need.

Many thanks for your support!
