Mount Everest….

The two words instantly create a vision in your mind….the roof of the world, an icon of the natural world, the highest point on the planet where humans do not belong but endeavour to explore her highest slopes. ‘Chomolungma’ or ‘Goddess Mother of the World’ ‘as she is known to the Sherpa people of Nepal inspires dreams to adventurous souls and is the lifeblood to the inhabitants of this epic yet harsh mountainous world.

This coming April, I will embark on a lifelong dream to attempt to summit Everest with the faith she will allow our safe passage to the top. For those of you that know me well, know this has been something that I have been building towards for many years. The last year has been a difficult one for all of us, I hope this endeavour can bring positivity, perhaps some inspiration whilst also raising much needed funds for a charity that means a lot to me.

My family, friends, colleagues and peers, with your support I hope to raise as much as possible for the Himalayan Trust. Founded by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1960, he set out to bring quality education, vital health services and infrastructure to the people of the poorest regions of Nepal. On my previous trips to Nepal, I experienced first-hand, how incredible the people of this region are. For people whom have so little, their kindness, strength and resilience is humbling. The funds we can raise together, will go far in Nepal, continuing to help support the great work that has already been done by Hillary's charity, the Himalayan Trust.

I am ready and excited to follow in the footsteps of Sir Ed Hillary…. please follow me on the journey.
