Story
Thanks for everyone’s kind words, cards and messages we have received. Unfortunately, Mum lost her ongoing battle with cancer on Thursday 21st January.
The whole journey has been quite an experience to say the least. COVID hasn’t helped with the ordeal. We had to deal with reduced visitors in hospital as well as her treatment being cut short. She also had deal with self-isolation on her own whilst going through her chemotherapy treatment. Despite this, being the trooper she was, she was still able to get out in the garden and look after her amazing veg patch and poly tunnel, even during her treatment. We were also able to hold our blessing day overlooking the lake with a small selection of family and friends which she loved.
During her final weeks she was in the best care possible at the Joseph Weld Hospice. They are some of the nicest, caring people who work around the clock to provide amazing care for their patients. Unfortunately, due to COVID they have lost out on a large amount of funding. This is mostly being down to numbers being cut down at funerals which means less donations. I have set up the below page in the hope to raise a bit of money for this amazing cause.
In return I have 10 English oak trees to plant, that mum and I potted up together, over the summer. I’m also planning to plant a number of different species over the course of the year in memory of her as she loved the environment. Please give whatever you can afford and many thanks in advance. Mum is now with Dad and her beloved dog Russ.
