The Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE) is one of a number of charities championing ocean preservation and sustainability around the world, committed to raising awareness and much needed funds. They exist to combat over-fishing and the destruction of biodiversity by creating large-scale marine reserves. BLUE aims to have 10% of the world’s oceans under protection by 2020 and 30% by 2030.

For the third year running, BLUE are organising the London to Monaco bike ride: a gruelling 7 day, 1000km ride through 8 countries.

I am one of 50 riders taking part, following in the tracks of over 150 others before us who have already helped raise over £570,000 to support projects in the UK, Ascension Islands, Belize and the Maldives.
