Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been fortunate enough to know about NACOA for a couple of years now, however, I could have done with the charity when I was much younger - when all one knew about alcoholism was Alcoholics Annoymous (an organisation that whilst great, is not at all geared towards children and teenagers).

My father recently passed away from liver failure as a direct result of a lifetime of alcholism. The sweetest and most wonderful man, he too was a child of alcholism in a time when the UK didn't talk about such things. Dealing with his alcholoism whilst he was alive was something that felt incredibly lonely and misunderstoood. Now that he has died and is at peace, I finally have the chance to 'deal with his alcoholism' by making NACOA more widely known, for others in similar positions to that of me and my siblings.

I'm running this half marathon because I want do something productive with my grief and I hope that you will support me in this by donating whatever you can to this worthy charity.
