Elephants never forget, why should we?

 

Elegant and graceful

Majestic and gentle

 

We need to object

To this lack of respect

 

That we have for Nelly

And her friends around Dehli

 

With forests being cleared

We’ll see a lot less big ears

 

I say make a stand

Speak out like Mark Shand

 

Fight for their lives

It’ll be us who’s deprived

 

Of an iconic species

True Asian beauties

 

Stop them dying for ivory

And just live in harmony

 

Please pull out you purse

Or it’ll only get worse

 

Make an act of defiance

And help these grey giants

 

 

Do something extraordinary

Help save the elephants with me.

 

Undeniably one of the best moments in my life was the first time I saw an elephant in the wild. I will never, ever forget it. I felt overwhelmed with emotion and so privileged. I was speechless. If you want your children to have the same breath-taking experience we need to act now, to prevent the destruction of forests and in turn the extinction of a truly magical species.

I am running the Bupa London 10km on the 30^th of May for Elephant Family. A small UK based charity dedicated to the conservation of the endangered Asian Elephant and their habitat. Please donate anything you can to this very worthwhile cause.
