Story
Firstly thank you for taking the time to read my donation page; I hope the words below will inspire you into making a donation towards this wonderful and worthwhile cause. In my long and varied career I have worked closely with many people dealing with different illnesses and what is dearest to my heart are children and young people coping with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Two years ago I decided to grow my hair into a different style and one evening while in the company of friends we were discussing various ways of raising money for charity, they joked I should then shave my hair off once it had grown , my reply – “no way”. However over the next few weeks the thought kept popping into my head so I decided to take the plunge and the big buzz event is taking place from 4pm on Saturday 21st June at the Windsock Club, Eastcote Avenue, Harrow, Middlesex, HA2 8AL – There will be lots of activities on the day for all the family.
Wherever you may work, socialize or close to home we all know or have cared for someone with cancer. My chosen charity is CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people (age range 0 – 24 years). Today 10 children in the UK will hear the shocking news that they have cancer, treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for up to three years. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family. CLIC Sargent provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
Please help me raise lots and lots of money for this great cause which will contribute towards the treatment and quality of life for so many children and young people.
Lots of love,
Rose xxx
