Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

With certain  trepidation I put my name forward to the Sleepeasy event.  Nudging my 7th decade,  I have always had a safe roof over my head. No-one I have known has had to sleep rough. As a mother of 5 and a Grandmother of 10 who has never had to deal with such trauma, I am keen to learn more about homelessness amongst the young, which should not be happening in our country.

For this reason, I am challenging myself to sleep rough
on 8^th March, with the aim of raising as much as I can to help
further the superb work that YMCA Essex is doing to give these vulnerable youngsters a positive future.

YMCA Essex believe that every young person should have a safe place to stay, with people they can trust. To those vulnerable young who fall short of this but have the good fortune to come into their care, YMCA Essex offer inspirational programmes to turn their lives around.  I have talked with several who have benefited from such care and support.  The YMCA Essex have given them the tools to become fully integrated and confident members of the community.
