Y Care International is the international development and relief agency of the YMCA in the UK and Ireland. We work in partnership with YMCAs in the global south, funding and supporting grassroots development programmes that help young people lift themselves out of poverty.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to Bangladesh to work with some of the most vulnerable young people living in rural communities. Whilst there we will be focusing on raising awareness of women's rights, creating educational opportunities and helping with the prevention of violence. The money raised here will go towards ensuring that the worldwide projects set up by Y Care Int. can be sustained long-term, so the local communities really feel the continued positive effects of our work.

I will be jumping into Hampstead Heath ponds for a swim on Christmas day! I am pretty terrified of having to break the ice but all sponsors will get a video of this suitably chilly festive event.

This programme is in partnership with ICS. I am very excited to be working with a organisation that is so dedicated to grassroots development and programmes that help young people lift themselves out of poverty.
