Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.
For those of you who don't already know, my Grandad, Brian Livesey struggled with emphysema and asthma for as long as I can remember. Two weeks before Christmas my Grandad was taken ill and was admitted to Stepping Hill Hospital.
The next two weeks leading up to Christmas were extremely difficult for the entire family especially my Nana. Several days before Christmas my Grandad contracted pneumonia and took another turn for the worse. I last saw and spoke to my Grandad on Christmas Eve where he smiled and acknowledged me being there and asked after my daughter (his great grandaughter) Imogen. He was tired so I waited with him and kept him company until he fell asleep.
On Christmas Day I received the phone call to say that my Grandad had passed away earlier that morning. It was as though he had waited for all the family to visit and say their goodbyes on Christmas Eve before leaving us for the last time.
Christmas Day was especially difficult but as a family we pulled through it together and made it a Christmas Day my Grandad would have been proud of.
So now I am here asking all of you to help me on my quest to raise as much money as possible for The British Lung Foundation so they can continue to look for treatments and cure's for lung problems and diseases. So many families have gone through and will continue to go through situations such as mine and so every penny we can raise will help families get through these difficult times and support a cause doing such good.
I am currently in training to run the Bupa Manchester 10k alongside my Dad, Mark and younger brother Austin in memory of my Grandad, Brian.
So please dig deep! Help me achieve my fundraising target I am sure my Grandad will be there watching over me cheering me on throughout the race.
Thanks
Ross
