ROW24 is about Simon & James raising as much money as possible for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation & The Ivy Foundation. Both are local Guernsey charities who support families after the loss or premature birth of children in the Baliwick:

Being no strangers to endurance rowing, ROW24 became their charity event challenge and they will attempt to break the world 24 hour indoor rowing record for the Men's 30-39 Lightweight category on the Concept 2 ("Erg").

Simon & James both took part in the 100,000 metre Centurion Challenge in 2011. Simon has also previously completed a tandem 24 hour charity row in 2008 and was a member of the 1 Million Metres 4 MS challenge in 2009. Both are also experienced coastal rowers having won many local races and the prestigious Sark to Jersey on several occasions. Currently they are doubles rowing partners for the Team TPA competing for the Guernsey Rowing Club

During ROW24, Simon & James will each row for 20 minutes at a time before swapping. This rota will continue for the whole 24 hours, with the aim of pulling over 344km during the event. For those of you familiar with the Concept 2 that means they need to hold an average split per 500 metres of 2.05! The event is taking place at the Tri Fitness Factory - so please come down and show your support. ROW24 will start at 10am Friday 12th February, finsihing at 10am Saturday 13th February.

The current record is held by  Aleksei Lipintsov & Jaanus Jaeger from Estonia, standing at 343,285 metres.
