Story
In July this year I was admitted to Levrendale Psychiatric Hospital due to severe depression and a relapse of Borderline Personality Disorder. I was in a very dark and lonely place.
I have had phenomenal support from my family, Alasdair, my husband, has been a rock and held the family together. Ruairidh, Niamh and Nuala have been shining stars in the darkness. My friends have stood by me with special mentions to Joanna, Carol Anne, Kerry and Fiona. In the professional field my thanks go to Dr's Knox and Mundell and Barbara Gerber and also the staff at Hillview Nursery in Paisley who have been looking after my kids during the day.
A special mention also to my cousin Suzanne, who sadly lost someone close to her through suicide this year. She has shown amazing strength and courage through this and has also been a great support to me.
On my road to recovery I've started running and running the BUPA 5k is my first target. I'm on week 3 the couch to 5k training programme. I dont' have a target timewise I just want to finish and raise money for Scottish Association for Mental Health. They work to provide support and information on Mental Health and also to help fight the stigma.
Please sponser me not just to support me in my recovery but others facing the challenges of dealing with mental health.
