Instead of birthday gifts or cards this year, I thought it would be great to raise money for a good cause: Schnauzerfest! I wanted to challenge myself and Merlin to a month of walking. Our target is 20 miles over 5 big walks throughout August: 

Chew Magna Circular Walk – 4.5 miles 
Shipham and Dolebury Warren circular Walk – 5.5 miles 
Castle Coombe Circular – 3.5 miles 
Pensford Viaduct – 2 miles 
Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail – 4.5 miles

Merlin is old enough now where he can walk long distances without it being a risk to his health. We have been building his walks up each month and he loves exploring. That being said, we will still take it easy with lots of rest days in between. 

As everyone knows Merlin is a miniature Schnauzer and i found out about Schnauzerfest via other Schnauzer owners. Schnauzerfest raises money to pay for the veterinary care needed by dogs saved from puppy farms & other bad backgrounds. Schnauzerfest funds restore the eyesight of dogs blinded by cataracts, as well as paying for other treatment. Supporting Schnauzerfest means vital rescue work is made possible and dogs lives are transformed.
