Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

8 years ago my son, Owen, was diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. Being a genetic condition there is no current cure and so we want to support MDUK in their research. Owen lives a full and active life doing what is possible for him. His scoliosis operation of 2018 was postponed until this year due to his size and light weight - in January 2019 he had a PEG placed in his stomach to aid food and calorie intake, which has been successful and he has gained weight.

Each year, as a family, we like to do something to support Owen and the MDUK charity - last year I took on the GNR and so this year, along with his older brothers, Ed and Adam and a great family friend, John, we are doing the 3 Peaks in June - starting from Snowdon on Friday 21st June we will start our ascent at 10am, hit Scafell Pike around 6pm and aim to finish in Ben Nevis before 10am Saturday morning  (target is to finish by 9am!!) - followed by celebrations in Edingburgh Saturday evening to replace lost fluids!

We are completely self funding our challenge so that the maximum amount raised goes to MDUK - Please spread the awareness and if you can sponsor it is appreciated, but at the same time just your good wishes, support are fine :-)
