Story

Hello- thanks so much for showing interest and visiting this page!

Quite remarkably, I have got a place running in the London marathon this October...! I’m so fortunate to be in a position to fulfil a life goal whilst also raising money for a charity local to me, South London Refugee Association.

Based in Streatham, SLRA works to relieve poverty and distress by assisting and supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in South London. They help people to overcome difficult circumstances and past trauma in order to build new, productive lives. Their recent focus has been on helping those without documentation to get benefits, hosting events and groups to build community, providing training and counselling for those who are at risk or in crisis because of past trauma or restrictions related to their current immigration status. They are fantastic and I'm really excited to visit their centre and chat with those they are helping.

Sooo, if you're excited about this work and want to help out or if you're just incredulous that I am attempting a marathon, please donate! They would be so grateful for your donations and I will be updating this page with how the money raised will be used.

Thank you, love you

Sophie
