Run For Nepal

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 25 Apr, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. At the time, I was walking back from a coffee shop in Kathmandu and felt every bit of it. Luckily for me, I was in a relatively modern area and there was only minor damage to the buildings around me.
Over the next 4 days I saw first hand the devastation that had been caused to the infrastructure around the city. I was saddened by the number of deaths, injuries and the vast numbers of people that were left displaced in Thamel.
In Thamel, there was a sea of make-shift tents with whole families living in them not knowing what their next move was. I found this deeply upsetting and wished that there was something I could do to help.
Now, returned to the UK, it is sad to think that thousands of Nepalese are still stuggling to survive. The devastation I saw in Kathmandu was only fraction of the damage, as there are thousands in the hills and surrounding areas that need assistance.
To that end, I will be running 26.2 miles carrying a Doko basket, exactly the same as the British Gurkhas carry during the Doko race on their gruelling selection.
All I ask is you donate £1(or more if you like) either on this just giving page or by text and you share my facebook page to yours asking your friends to sponsor me.
Text: GRFN50 £1 to 70070.
Thankyou,
Duncan
